I love to clean. I've been cleaning since I was a little kid, and as an adult it still makes me feel productive and accomplished every time.
But like most of us, my budget is tight and my time is limited, so when I'm looking for ways to maximize my time and resources, homemade cleaning products are my solution.
DIY cleaning solutions can be safer than some brands on the market because you know exactly what goes into them — no mystery chemicals or other ingredients! They're easy to make and do not require bulky equipment.

All-purpose Cleaner
Use vinegar and water to clean just about anything. You can add essential oils if you'd like a little scent- I like to add Citrus Essential Oils for a fresh and clean smell.

Organization can be simple or multifaceted. I went the multifaceted direction and swapped our labels and made even cleaning products pretty. I love these labels! They are easy to apply AND remove if necessary to reapply. They add a whole new vibe to my space and organization!

Floor Cleaner
One of the most common areas to clean around the house is your floor. There are several different cleaning solutions you can use depending on the floor material, but there’s one method that is always safe: vinegar and water.
Vinegar is great at cutting through grime, so it makes sense that it would be helpful in cleaning those dirty floors with a mop or steam cleaner.
A mixture of equal parts vinegar and water (1:1) will work for this recipe.To use this solution, simply mix together equal parts white distilled vinegar and warm water in a spray bottle or mop bucket. Then to clean, use the spray bottle and a microfiber cloth or your mop! Big or small, vinegar is capable of tackling any mess!

Upholstery Cleaner
With daily wear, pets, and kids, upholstery can start to look dingy. You can use vinegar, water, and alcohol to clean your upholstery and give it a fresh feel!
Mix 1/4 cup vinegar, 1/2 cup of water, 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol, and Essential Oil to a reusable spray bottle and turn the bottle upside down and back upright to mix.
Spray the solution onto the fabric, let it sit for a few minutes, then blot with a clean cloth. Basket tags & Labels are the perfect way to label your storage

Glass Cleaner
If you’re like me, my back patio door is filled with tiny handprints and dog pawprints. I am always spraying and wiping the glass!
To make a cost-effective glass cleaner, combine equal parts water and vinegar in a spray bottle. Spray the solution onto the surface and wipe with a cloth. You can also store and use a squeegee in the shower to keep your shower door spotless.

Carpet Spot Remover
For those small carpet stains, mix equal parts of ammonia and water. Then add a few drops of vinegar, stir, and pour into a spray bottle. You can use this mixture by directly spraying the stain. Let it sit for a few minutes before wiping up with an absorbent rag or cloth; repeat if necessary.
Tub, Tile & Grout Cleaner
You'll need:
- Baking soda
- Hydrogen peroxide (3 parts hydrogen peroxide to 1 part water)
- Water
- Scrub brush or old toothbrush
