All purpose Cleaning Solution

This cleaning solution is so versatile that you will want to put it everywhere you can! It is kid and pet safe so you can apply it with ease and comfort. However, avoid using it on granite, marble or other natural stones, because it can damage the surface. You will need:
- 500 ml water (2 cups) boiled and cooled
- 50 ml white vinegar (1/4 cup)
- 20 drops of your favorite scent essential oil
Apply to the desired surface and clean up with a microfiber towel to help you keep the dust away! You can use this for your kid’s toys, closets, pantry, fridge, furniture and all around your home!
2. Floor cleaner
When it comes to floors we like to step up the game and apply a powerful cleaning solution, adding a few more ingredients to boost its disinfectant power.
- 2 liters of water
- 100 ml of white vinegar
- 50 ml of 70% rubbing alcohol
- 2 squirts of liquid dishwasher soap or castile soap
- 20 drops of your favorite essential oil
Mix all the ingredients in the bucket and you are ready to mop!
If your floors are made of stone or wood, I would recommend avoiding using vinegar and double the rubbing alcohol in the solution. Always test an area if you have any concerns.
3. Homemade Carpet Cleaner + Stain Remover
You love your carpets but it’s a nightmare to clean them? Not any more! With this homemade carpet cleaner you are in for a treat. For regular cleaning you will need:
- 2 cups of warm water
- ¼ cup of white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of baking soda
- 1 tablespoon of castile soap
Mix in a spray bottle the warm water, baking soda and the castile soap. Add small amounts of the white vinegar (.t will create foam but will end up as a liquid solution).
Spray this cleaning solution on top of the carpet and use a cleaning brush to scrub it. Then remove excess with a microfiber towel. If you can, allow the carpet to dry completely in the sunlight.
If it’s not possible, then spray the solution just in the right amount to scrub and dry.

After the carpet is cleaned we can maintain the freshness by applying a weekly carpet freshener:
- 1 cup of baking soda
- 20 drops of your favorite essential oil
Shake it well together, apply on top of the rug and move it around. You can let it sit all night long with this powder and next morning vacuum the carpet as usual. This is a natural deodorizer, it will absorb the bad scent, and leave the scent of the essential oil.
Hack: For hard stains mix 3 parts of vinegar +1 part of castile soap and spray on top of the stain. Scrub with a brush until the stain is out. Then remove excess with a microfiber towel and continue cleaning up the rest of the carpet with the regular carpet cleaner solution.
4. Disinfectant wipes
We absolutely LOVE this recipe! For homemade disinfectant wipes that are safe for your home, you will need:
- Plastic or glass sealable container
- Paper towels (we recommend Reusable Bamboo Paper Towels)
- 1 cup 70% rubbing alcohol
- 1 cup water boiled and cooled
- 1 tablespoon of castile soap
- 20 drops of your favorite essential oil
Add all the ingredients into the container and mix well together. Place the reusable paper towels in the container. If it is a rectangular container, cut sheets and place them on top of each other. If it's a cylinder container you can remove the cardboard center, cut the roll in half using a large knife and use them by unraveling from the outside. Don’t forget to remove the cardboard center!
This also works as an all purpose cleaner, safe to use on natural stone. You can apply this cleaning solution with a microfiber towel to your desired surface.
